Batyr Presentations

Batyr is an organisation focussed on addressing issues that impact the mental health of young people, promoting resilience and help seeking behaviour.

The organisation aims to engage, educate and empower young people to have positive conversations about mental health. Batyr offer a range of programs that ‘give a voice to the elephant in the room’ and aim to smash the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage young people to reach out for help when they need it.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday the 14^th and 15^th of May, Batyr are coming to Armidale Secondary College, speaking with students from year 9 10,11 and 12.

All costs will be covered by the school and all students will be able to attend.

The 2018 Batyr presentations at both our schools were popular with students. Comments from students included:

“Hearing real stories helped me understand it can happen to anyone and you are not alone” – Year 9 student

 “I feel like I know how to help others and myself more after hearing your stories” – Year 10 student

• 30 students per average class in Australia
• 7 will be dealing wiht a significant mental health issue
• 2 only will seek help
• 5 will suffer in silence
